Dr. David K. Ward, M.D., FRCSC is certified
in the specialty of Plastic Surgery by the
Royal
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
He is co-founder and one of the three physician
partners in Valley Cosmetic Surgery Associates Inc.,
which owns and operates Valley Surgery Centre. Dr. Ward is
the Medical Director of Valley
Surgery Centre.
After pre-medical education at McGill and Queen's
Universities, Dr. Ward attended Medical School
at the University of Toronto, receiving his M.D. in 1980.
He went on to complete his residency
in
Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto,
followed by a Fellowship in Reconstructive
Microsurgery.
Dr. Ward joined the medical staff at the Hamilton
Civic Hospitals in 1989 where he was appointed
Assistant Clinical Professor in Plastic Surgery at McMaster
University. While achieving an outstanding
local reputation, Dr. Ward's west coast family roots drew
him towards the Vancouver area.
Dr. Ward established his practice in the lower
mainland in 1992, where he was welcomed to the
medical staff of Surrey Memorial, St. Mary's, Royal Columbian
and Peace Arch Hospitals. He served
as Chair of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Surrey Memorial
Hospital for twelve years and developed
a reputation for excellent results in all areas of Plastic
Surgery. He is recognized by his peers as an
expert in aesthetic and reconstructive
breast surgery, and has given presentations
on these
topics at Plastic Surgery meetings at both the local and national
level.
Dr. Ward is an active member of the Canadian
Society of Plastic Surgeons, Canadian
Society of
Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgery and the American
Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. His
practice is now primarily cosmetic, which attests to the
very natural results and beautiful enhancements that Dr. Ward
is able to achieve for his patients.
