Hello there I have two questions. First I am wondering if I get a BA (gels under muscle) and at
some point many years down the road I decide for whatever reason to have them permanently
removed, will I be left with very mis-shapen or saggy breasts. I am a small A cup now and looking
at about 350cc gel implants. Will a lift definitely be required?
Secondly I am wondering about stretch marks. Although I am now done having children, my two
pregnancies have left me with small stretch marks on my breasts. Will they become extremely
visable after BA due to the stretching of the skin and can anything done to make them less visable.
I want cleavage but fear that I will be self conscious of showing it if there are stretch marks
visable. Ady

Dear Ady,
In general, I think you are correct with respect to the need for a breast lift after many years with breast
implants. Implants contribute to 'ptosis' (breast sag) due to their weight and the effects of gravity, as
well as stretching of the skin and breast tissue envelope. Realize, however, that there are many
factors that contribute to ptosis over time: having children and breast feeding, weight loss,
menopause, normal aging, and gravity. Implants are only one factor that contribute to the need for a
breast lift.
In my experience, stretch marks are less of a problem. In fact, they often become less noticeable
after breast augmentation because of increased skin stretch (stretch marks are usually more visible
when the skin is lax). Certainly, I have not seen increased numbers of stretch marks after breast
enhancement surgery.
