I can't remember when exactly I started thinkin about
it. All I know isthat ever since I had my first child (at 17), my boobs were deflated
              and
I had to wear a bra at all times. Having a lift was like a dream
              to me;
inaccessible. Last summer (2002), I started thinking about it seriously.
I didn't really research it but went on a consult with a doctor
              by looking
in the yellow pages. I didn't like him very much and he said that
              if I
wanted to lose weight, to do so before having BA and to come see
              him
when done. I kind of stopped thinking about it for a while thinking
              that
 it wasn't meant to be.
In March 2003, I started thinking about it again but
this time, I didsome research. I came on this site and learned about all the risks
              and
possible complications. It really scared me but never did it make
              me
change my mind. I had doubts but knew that I would still do it.
              I had my
consult with my PS April 8 and got operated April 22nd. On my consult,
my PS told me that if he did only a lift, I wouldn't have much breast
left so he suggested 400cc saline implants and told me to do the
              rice
test. I did the rice test and came up with 450cc. Since I knew from
              this
site that most of the girls wished they had gone bigger, I went
              for 500cc.
When I told this to the ps, he told me no way he would
put so much on me; I have no fat, no breast tissue, etc. So, I told him to put
              the
biggest he could put. After that, I didn't have to wait for long
              compared
to everybody else but those two weeks seemed so long. During that
period, I got excited, scared, excited and excited again.
The week before, I went to the hospital to take pre
op pictures andtests. It's funny but on the day of my BA, I wasn't that nervous.
              I was just
so happy! I got to the hospital at 8h00 and got operated at 10h30.
When I woke up, I was surprised that I didn't hurt more but I can
              still
say that it hurt pretty much. The recovery process was a stressful
              thing
for me. Usually, I'm not a very anxious person espescially over
              health
issues but with this operation, I couldn’t stop worrying.
              I went to the
hospital 3 times because my left breast oozed some yellow/pink stuff.
I couldn’t believe it was normal but they told me it’s
              quite common
with operations no matter which ones. It’s better to go out
              than have a
seratoma. At the beginning, I was just happy to have boobs but I
              knew
that I could’ve gone bigger; I was just too anxious to wait.
              Now, at 3
months, I think they’re perfect, especially in pictures, they
              really look
big. They’re softer and they feel like a part of me.
I’m really happy that I got this operation but
wouldn’t recommend it to everyone. Do your research, know the risks and possible
complications and evaluate if you can live with that. It’s
              definitively
 worth it!
