The transumbilical incision
is made in
the navel.
The implant can be placed either
above or
below the muscle with this technique.
With the transumbilical approach
an endosope
(tiny telescope) is sometimes used, to assist
in making an accurate pocket for the implant
to be placed.
This incision site is the newest
technique and
the majority of surgeons in Canada do not
perform this method.
