Dr. Somogyi is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who is recognized for expertise in both cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery. More importantly, however, are his personable demeanor and his constant desire to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident in the decisions you will make. Always beginning with a comprehensive consultation, Dr. Somogyi will listen to your goals and hear your vision. He will use his extensive experience to guide you through the decision-making process using patient examples, 3D photography and computer simulation. Dr. Somogyi began his training at The University of Toronto Medical School and subsequently completed The University of Toronto’s Plastic Surgery Training Program. He excelled in his clinical training while maintaining an active research interest. He has since been involved in many publications that are advancing the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery - most of these in the area of breast surgery.
Dr. Somogyi then travelled to Melbourne, Australia to complete an additional year of subspecialty training at the prestigious Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery. There, he mastered innovative techniques in breast surgery including post-surgical scar management.
Today, Dr. Somogyi runs a busy reconstructive practice through North York General and Women’s College Hospitals and maintains his academic affiliation as an Assistant Professor within the University of Toronto Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Through his downtown office at Toronto Plastic Surgery and The Cumberland Clinic, he has developed an Aesthetic Plastic Surgery practice that focuses on patient-centred care with the ultimate goal of patient comfort, confidence and excellent results.
