Dr. Smith is a Certified Plastic Surgeon who has practiced in Victoria since 1992. His clinical practice involves Cosmetic Plastic Surgery as well as Reconstructive Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Smith recognizes the ever increasing popularity of Cosmetic Surgery. It is an exciting part of his practice, and when treated with the appropriate respect, leads to a satisfied patient and surgeon.

Patient and procedure selection are the most important part of the process in the determination of a final result. In order to achieve this, Dr. Smith meets with patients in consultation to ensure that they are insightful, well informed, and have had the opportunity to have their questions and concerns addressed.

After patients complete a thorough breast augmentation consultation with Dr. Smith, an office visit with one of our office nurses will be arranged. This second consultation provides an opportunity for the patient to address any further questions they may have, and to try on breast implant "sizers" in order to establish the implant size they prefer.

Dr. Smith performs all of his surgery in his own fully accredited and equipped surgical facility, in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia All surgeons and anaesthesiologists are Board Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The clinic philosophy is to provide patients with a nurturing and caring environment with the highest standard of medical and surgical care.

As a Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Smith has had the benefit and opportunity to be trained in general surgery, burns, head and neck surgery, maxillofacial trauma, pediatric plastic surgery, hand and microsurgery, and general plastic surgery. He has also spent additional training in the area of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery.

In 1986, he commenced his surgical training at the University of Toronto. From 1986-1991 he had the privilege of working with, and being trained by, a number of surgeons internationally respected in their areas of expertise. He qualified for and passed his certification as a Plastic Surgeon in 1991 then spent the next year gaining additional training in Cosmetic Plastic surgery (Toronto) and in microsurgical exposure (Toronto and Melbourne).
